Tschiegg (b.1966) is a Swiss-French painter. She currently lives and works in her birthplace of Mulhouse, France near the border triangle of France, Germany and Switzerland.
For 30 years, Tschiegg has been chasing color, capturing people, plants, and landscapes in vibrant acrylic. Tschiegg’s paintings defy genre as she toys with abstraction. Allowing her pieces to almost take on minds of their own, she revels in imbalance and spontaneity. Painting is an act of love and preservation, for both painter and subject. In Tschiegg’s words, on each canvas she lives another day.
Tschiegg has presented solo shows in Belgium, Germany, and France, and has exhibited throughout Europe and Australia, including two shows at Luxembourg Art Week. She is also represented by Verduyn Gallery in Belgium, Galerie Sabine Bayasli in France, Galerie Albert Baumgarten and Galerie Imke Valentien, both in Germany.
